The intention here is to give you a glimpse of the work and life of a quality executive.
Dr. Jay Zhou is living in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States of America. During his international service at Mazda, he lived in Hiroshima, Japan. He traveled between Ann Arbor and Istanbull of Turkey when he worked on Transit Connect with Ford Otosan.
Currently Jay is Executive Technical Leader for Quality at Ford Motor Company. Prior to this, he was Senior Technical Leader for Quality, Quality Manager at Ford North America Trucks, and Reliability Manager at Ford Asia Pacific and Africa Operations. Before joining Ford, Jay designed airplane jet engines at Pratt Whitney and conducted Probabilistic Risk Assessment of nuclear power plants at EQE, Inc.
In 2010, American Society for Quality honored Dr. Jay Zhou the Quality Professional of the Year for his contribution to continuous improvement. Jay received Taguchi Award three times for his contributions to Robust Design. Jay holds a United States patent for inventing a durability test method for automotive vehicles.
Dr. Jay Zhou earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and his B.S. degree from Nanjing University of Technology where he currently serves as Guest Professor. Dr. Jay Zhou has published more than thirty technical papers, one of which was translated into Japanese and published on Japan Quality Engineering Forum.
To give back to the community where he lives and works, Jay is involved in various activities at his church, American Society for Quality, and Society of Automotive Engineers. For exercise, Dr. Jay plays basketball, tennis, and table tennis.
